9 Valentine’s Day Essential Oil Diffuser Blends

The New Year is upon us, and Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I’m here to share with you 9 Valentine’s Day essential oil diffuser blends to help you set the mood of love. Whether you share this Valentine’s Day with your children, friends or that special someone these diffuser blends will surely remind you of the love you share for your family and friends.

Essential Oil Safety

If you are a regular reader of mine, you know that I talk about essential oil safety a lot. Especially when it comes to using essential oils safely around kids and dogs. I have both and I don’t want to diffuse anything around them that might harm my kids or dogs. So, these diffuser blends are formulated for child and dog safety in mind.

You can safely diffuser all 9 of these essential oil diffuser blends around your kids and your dogs. I do not recommend diffusing around cats, as their bodies lack the enzymes needed to metabolize essential oils.

The essential oils used in these Valentine’s Day diffuser blends are safe for pregnancy, but it’s not recommended to use essential oils in the first trimester. All essential oils used in these blends are safe to use while breastfeeding, but it is not recommended to diffuse essential oils around babies under six months old.

Why Diffuse Valentine’s Day Diffuser Blends?

These are formulated with Valentine’s Day in mind. This means romance, love, and feelings of happiness with your loved ones. Ylang Ylang is known for its aphrodisiac properties, and you’ll notice I use Ylang Ylang in several of my blends. Clary Sage is a good essential oil for feelings of love and happiness. Vanilla livens things up in several of these blends. Patchouli makes things warmer and evoking.

My number one reason to diffuse these blends is that they smell good and make me happy! If they make me happy, they might make you happy too! Other reasons is they can help eliminate unpleasant odors in your home. I often diffuse right after cooking to help get rid of any meat or grease smell.

Black Pepper essential oils is very warming to the skin, but in this blend, it has a warming aroma so to speak when mixed with Ylang Ylang. If you wanted to you could add this blend to 1 ounce of carrier oil to make a warming massage blend. Simply add 3 drops Ylang Ylang and 3 drops Black Pepper to 1 ounce of carrier oil and use as a massage oil. This is a 1% dilution. Here is the diffuser blend.

This last blend is simply because I love Ylang Ylang and sweet orange (mandarin is even better if you have it) mixed together. I added cedarwood to give it a tiny bit of woodsy smell.

Using Your Valentine’s Day Diffuser Blends

All these diffuser blends are designed to be used in an ultrasonic diffuser (most of the diffusers out there are ultrasonic). They are formulated for a 100-200 milliliter water reservoir. If you have a larger water reservoir, feel free to double the drops for a stronger smell.

Now to use, add the drops of essential oils from the recipe you wish to try into an ultrasonic essential oil diffuser. Add your water to the fill line. (You can also add the water first). Replace cover and set for 15 to 30 minutes. I recommend diffusing 10 minutes on, 20 minutes off, but most diffusers don’t run like that. What I do, is turn on my diffuser and let is run till I smell it through-out the room, usually 15 minutes. Then I shut it off. I’ll repeat this again in an hour or so.
