Diffusing essential oils is one of the best way to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. There are many ways to do this. This post will share with you different ways to diffuse essential oils both inexpensively and those that cost a little bit of money.

Inexpensive Ways to Diffuse Essential Oils
We’ll start with inexpensive way to diffuse. The following ways are simple, inexpensive and you probably have everything at home to begin diffusing.
- Add a few drops to a tissue and place in dresser drawer, your purse, or anywhere you want to smell your essential oils.
- Clip clothes pins to heater vents with cotton craft balls hot glued to the clip. Drop a few drops of essential oil on to the cotton craft ball. You can also do this in your car.
- Add a few drops of essential oil to the card board roll of your toilet paper to freshen the bath room.
- Take a plain ceramic tile (no paint on it) and add a few drops of essential oils to it.
- Make your kitchen smell fresh by adding a few drops of lemon or orange to your kitchen drain.
- Add essential oils to your garbage can. Just drop a few right on top of the garbage. Or add to a cotton ball and place outside the garbage bag in the garbage container.
- Mix essential oils into Epsom salts and let sit out on your bathroom counter. Later mix in 1 tablespoon jojoba or fractionated coconut oil and use in your bath water for a relaxing treat!
- Place a tissue with a few drops of essential oils on it into the bag or canister of your vacuum cleaner.
- Take a piece of scrap wood or a cut circle of birch and add a few drops of oil to it.
- Use a piece of lava stone as a diffuser. Any porous stone would work.
Ways to Diffuse with an Investment
Ultrasonic or humidifying diffuser – These run with a little ceramic disk that vibrates quickly to make a cool humidifying mist. Most are silent or near silent and have multiply mist settings or run times.
A nebulizing diffusers forces a stream of air through a tube that contains essential oil at high pressure. It creates a fine mist of essential oil that floats through the air. You can find one here on Amazon.com.
Car Diffuser no. 1 The first diffuser plugs into the car’s accessory power outlet. It generally runs for two hours before needing to be refilled with water and essential oil and needs to be cleaned often.
Car Diffuser no. 2 A third type is a round metal disk that opens like a locket. A fabric disk is inside to which you would apply your essential oils too. It clips onto your heater vent.
Ceramic diffuser. These are visually pleasing to the eye. Usually shaped like a flower or leaf, they a simply ceramic or stone. Simply place the essential oil onto the ceramic for passive diffusion.
Jewelry diffuser. Usually made with lava beads that are great for applying essential oils too. Some necklaces have a cotton ball inside a larger bead that you would use for diffusing.
Personal inhaler. Looks very much like a tub of lipstick. You simply apply essential oils onto the cotton wick inside the in haler and breath thru the nasal opening.
Reed Diffuser. Here you will have a jar or container with a small opening. You will fill with carrier oil of choice and add your favorite essential oils. The oils will provide a soft fragrance from slowly evaporating essential oils.
So, there you have it. Both free or nearly free diffusers ideas or some that cost a little bit of money. You now can diffuse your essential oils whenever and wherever you feel like it.
