What is anxiety?

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, fear, or unease about something that may happen or something with an unsure outcome. It is the body’s natural way of dealing with stress and often triggers the “flight” or “fight” response. Anxiety can be a normal feeling when faced with certain situations, such as publicly speaking or going to the dentist or doctor.

Sometimes anxiety can have underlying reasons and can become a more serious ailment. In this case your anxiety can imped everyday life activities. If this has happened to you, speak with your doctor.

Essential Oil Uses For Anxiety

Now that we have listed 13 essential oils for anxiety you will need to know how to use the blends. For this we have three options. An ultrasonic diffuser, essential oil personal inhaler and an essential oil rollerball. Read on to find out how to use each method.

Essential Oil Ultrasonic Diffuser

To use an ultrasonic diffuser, fill with water as recommended by the manufacturer. For 100-200 ml diffusers use the recipe as is. For larger water reservoirs double or triple (for 500ml diffusers) the recipe. Below you will find the diffuser that I recommend. The Maxwiner Essential Oil Diffuser has a 30 minutes on and 30 minutes off setting which is the recommended setting for diffusing essential oils. It’s beautiful and silent.

Essential Oil Personal Inhaler

For a personal inhaler, double the recipe and add to the cotton wick inside the inhaler. Reassemble the inhaler. To use take 1 to 3 deep breaths through the nose with the inhaler held up to your nostril. Repeat as needed. Below you will find Aromatherapy Nasal inhaler tubes for essential oils. They are made of aluminum with an inner glass tube for holding the cotton wick (which holds the essential oils).

Essential Oil Rollerball

To use the essential oil blends as a roller ball, simply double the recipe and place the drops in a 10ml rollerball and top off with fractionated coconut oil. Below are the roller ball bottles that I use. They have a stainless ball roller and are dark amber to protect against oxidation.

Essential Oil Anxiety Blends

I’ve made some essential oil blends from the oils listed above (plus a few additional). These five essential oil blends are both suitable for personal inhalers and ultrasonic diffuser machines. As an additional use, the blends can also be used in rollerballs.  These blends are all designed to help alleviate anxiety.
